UNDERSTAND OUR MISSION

CLOSE THE RACIAL WEALTH GAP

We empower individuals and families to put their values into action to address the racial wealth gap.
At the Impact Collective, we believe everyone has a role to play to create a more just society—including individuals and families. While policy change is essential for addressing complex issues like the racial wealth gap, we believe everyone can help drive positive change.
Our rapidly growing community of people from all backgrounds share a vision of economic justice. Join our movement for change!

@Transformative Retreat for Women

Our very first Transformative Retreat for Women was an extraordinary, in-person event held in Boston's South End, bringing together a remarkable group of women for a weekend of connection, reflection, and action. Over three full days, participants engaged in a meaningful workshop designed beautifully by Sara Narva, where they shared personal stories, explored the intersections of race, class, and gender, and delved into the systemic roots of the racial wealth gap.

@Mass Black Expo 2024

The Impact Collective team is inspired, energized and grateful to have attended this year’s Mass Black Expo hosted by BECMA! We engaged with Massachusetts’ vibrant community of visionary Black business owners and leaders, who provided a powerful platform for meaningful discussions about economic equity, generational wealth, entrepreneurship, homeownership, and quality employment. These topics are all core to our mission at the Impact Collective of closing the racial wealth gap.

@Ruth Shaber Book Talk

Gratitude and excitement are overflowing after our incredible conversation with Dr. Ruth Shaber, MD and the Diverse Investing Collective! Ruth’s journey from physician to visionary change-maker, highlighted in her book The XX Edge, provide such invaluable lessons about the power of diverse investment teams and of having more women and people of color in decision-making roles across the industry.

EXPLORE OUR OFFERINGS

ACTIVATE YOUR INFLUENCE & AFFLUENCE

We organize, educate, and activate people to leverage all their resources to realize economic justice.
Our online and in-person workshops for white people with more financial resources than they need to thrive are unique and transformational, and empower values-aligned action. They explore why complex economic issues persist and meaningful actions we can take immediately.
We also invite everyone to participate in cross-racial and community-building convenings, conversations, and events focused on issues related to racial and economic justice.
  • Workshops for individuals and couples to learn about economic justice and the racial wealth gap in particular, clarify their values, and create concrete action plans.
  • Accountability Programs to support alumni engagement and their commitments to action.
  • Community Convenings to learn from one another and share knowledge, strengthen our collective organizing efforts and—of course—build relationships and community.
  • Movement of Money is the ultimate action we are striving for! We strategically support this work at an individual level among our program participants and alumni. We also work collectively to raise funds for initiatives and organizations who are doing important work to address the racial wealth gap.

WORK WITHIN COMMUNITY

We are a small but ambitious and growing team of people who are committed to changing the world.

We strive to center impact as defined by Black communities and gather input from a diverse network of partners, leaders, and peers. As a grassroots organization, our mission depends on individuals and organizations working together to collectively create impact.

"The Impact Collective is uniquely positioned to be a catalyst for raising awareness about the need for economic inclusion and closing the racial wealth gap for the benefit of all of us."

"I am a 4th-generation Bostonian who started my educational journey during the busing crisis. When first introduced to the Impact Collective, I immediately thought, 'yes, white people are examining their role in this maze of social injustice. It is refreshing, relieving, and inspiring to be in partnership CLTV."

LORI SMITH BRITTON

Founder & Principal at Community Resource Consulting Inc.

"Meeting a group of like-minded, wealthy, white women who are committed to taking action to close the racial wealth gap has helped me go even farther in my own work. I am so grateful to have participated, and I would wholeheartedly recommend the experience to other wealthy, white women."

Theresa M. Ellis

"The Intensive Workshop is a place for women with white privilege to be able to go deep and really understand the roots behind racial equity and be able to learn together, be vulnerable together and in it, and find tangible actions forward where we can leverage the privilege we have to actually create change."

DUNE THORNE

Intensive Workshop Participant

"The relationship and partnership that we have with CLTV is one of the most unique and impactful relationships that we have with ally organizations. We are so grateful and excited about this relationship especially during this critical time in our country."
